Meet Katy

Katy is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Certified Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CAADC) located in Oakland County, Michigan. Katy graduated with a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Vanguard University of Southern California. After graduating, she spent years in Southern California working in the field of substance abuse and mental health prior to relocating to Oakland County, Michigan. Katy currently provides individual therapy services specializing in mental health, stress management, relationship issues, codependency, self-esteem, trauma, as well as recovery from substance abuse and addictions.

Through her experience, Katy has come to understand that most people want to know what to anticipate when they enter therapy. She believes that everyone should have a safe and healing place to work through life's difficulties, which is what Hearts & Minds Empowered strives to offer. In working with her, you can expect that she will journey alongside you as you walk together through the difficulties that may be arising in your life. In both her personality and counseling, she offers a warm, safe environment through which her clients can truly be seen and heard. 

Katy also understands that the toughest relationship we can have is often the relationship we have with ourselves. She will work with you to find healthy perceptions of yourself and strengthen your relationships so that you can know yourself as peaceful, complete, whole and safe. She remains dedicated to helping you gain the confidence it takes to make healthy, conscious choices on your own.
